Matthew R. Evans, MD, PA

Heart Rhythm Specialist

Denton, TX

I am a highly-skilled, compassionate cardiac electrophysiologist, dedicated to caring heart rhythm disorders and overall health of my fellow North Texans. I strive to provide comprehensive solutions tailored to each patient’s needs and goals for their own health care, and in a language that they can understand. I personally understand the significant impact that these conditions can have on patients and their families.

I am well-versed in all aspects of heart rhythm disorders, in particular ablation of atrial fibrillation (AF), supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), and premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) as well as medical therapy options for each. I am also highly experienced in left atrial appendage occlusion devices aimed at reducing the risk of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation unable to tolerate anticoagulation. As an advocate for ongoing education, I routinely participate in educational activities and conferences on the latest advancement in the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders.

I am also a proud veteran, serving as an active duty officer in the United States Army, caring for sick and injured soldiers both stateside and overseas in the desert of Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, where I was awarded commendations for providing medical care to injured soldiers while under fire.

Having experienced tragic effects of atrial fibrillation in my own family, I am particularly committed to the detection, management, and potentially cure of this condition. Further, as most problems have more than one management approach available, I provide each patient with options for management, in order to meet their needs and expectations for their care. I care very much for my patients, and am honored to be an important part in their lives, as they are in mine.
